Indirect weighing with structural tension

DIGI SENS sensors need only few micrometers of deformation for a reliable measurement. This makes an indirect measurement of the weight possible. Further it also makes their application for the measurement of forces in machines and structures easier. Therefore no weighing platform or load cell have to be used to determine the weight. The weight can be established through loadproportional tensions in the existing bearing structure. With help of the vibrating-wire sensor, the tensions are chosen at a highly stressed spot of the structure.

Through the easy installation (screwing or gluing) measurement systems who are cheap and who are adapted to the existing structure can be realised. The costs and the expenses of integrating are most of the time factors smaller then the ones for conventional measurement systems. Through the high integration depth (few adaptations and extra-installations) simple and solid measurement chains can be realized.
