DIGI SENS sensors measure the force (weight) using a vibrating wire. Likely to the guitar the wires are animated to vibrate and change their vibration frequency dependent to the tensioning force. The tensioning force changes proportionally to the measured force.

The integrated electronics stimulate the wires and convert the vibrations into a signal that can be evaluated directly.
